WSA Soccer · West Bank Sports Complex
Help WSA expand reliable LED lighting and create more usable evening training space for the athletes and teams who call West Bank home.
Why this project matters
West Bank serves 48 WSA-Tulsa Competitive and National Program teams, but only four of the complex’s eleven fields are fully lit. Limited evening space creates scheduling challenges during the shorter days of fall and winter.
The grassroots lighting plan
WSA replaced ten aging halogen fixtures with ten LED lights. The project reduced the load on the existing transformer and helped resolve overheating problems that had caused lights to shut off. This project was financed by grassroots fundraising efforts of our athletes to help preface the next phase of Light the Bank.
WSA’s operating results indicate that removing one halogen fixture can create transformer capacity for up to two additional LED lights. One new LED also produces usable light comparable to approximately three to four aging halogen fixtures.
Ten light poles have already been secured. Campaign funds will help purchase LED fixtures, install and equip poles, complete trenching and electrical work, and provide the supporting infrastructure required for expansion.

START: FIELDS 7 + 12 • MOVE NORTH →Current lighting: Fields 8, 9, 10 and 11 are fully lit; Fields 7 and 12 are partially lit. On smaller screens, swipe horizontally to inspect the full map.
North points toward the right. A partial build begins at Fields 7 and 12, then progresses north as available funding allows.
Full completion brings lighting to every numbered field—including the dedicated GK training area connected to Field 4—elevating the training environment for West Bank goalkeepers as well.
Campaign progress
Campaign totals should distinguish money received from written commitments and matching funds that remain available.
Update these figures as the campaign progresses. Written commitments are shown separately from completed gifts.
Players leading the effort
Players will gather for a telethon-style evening of calls, pledges, matching challenges, teamwork and pizza.
WSA athletes will contact family members, friends and community supporters to explain the project and invite them to participate. Leadership matching commitments will be announced throughout the rally, giving players opportunities to unlock additional campaign support.
The public giving campaign will continue for three weeks following the rally, concluding approximately November 9.
Leadership Match Campaign
Families, alumni, businesses and community partners can make written commitments that WSA will use as matching opportunities during the Player Fundraiser Rally.
Guaranteed Campaign Commitment: The full pledged amount will be donated regardless of the rally results.
Dollar-for-Dollar Matching Commitment: The donor matches gifts received during a designated challenge, up to the stated maximum.
Goal-Activated Commitment: The full pledged amount becomes payable when the campaign reaches an agreed fundraising target.
A $1,000 match can motivate players and supporters to generate another $1,000 during a rally challenge. WSA will confirm the amount, activation terms, payment deadline and recognition preference before announcing each commitment.
Where campaign dollars will go
The $100,000 campaign would fund the majority of the current preliminary project need. Final costs remain subject to electrical design, permitting and contractor bids.
Prepare and equip the secured poles and purchase the remaining brackets and related mounting components.
Ten fixtures for replacement and approximately twenty fixtures for planned field-light expansion.
Approximately 6,000 feet of trenching and the supporting conduit and wire needed to serve additional pole locations.
Electrician labor for connections and mounting, plus equipment required to install fixtures safely.
A preliminary reserve for conditions or project needs identified during installation.
A dedicated pole, light and engraved in-ground placard for the permanent “always on” light at West Bank.
A promise and a permanent legacy
The campaign will help WSA fulfill a promise to the Wright family by establishing an “always on” light at West Bank. The concept was born from Kinsey Wright’s memorial service, where she was remembered as the Guardian of the Goal and Guardian of the Light of Truth.
Wright’s Light will create a permanent point of remembrance, inspiration and connection for the WSA community.
