2026 Referee (formerly known as Grassroots Referee) Course for 2026 registration cycle for new, first time referees. Hosted by West Side Alliance.

Registration closes 3/11/2026 at 10pm.

Those age 18 or over will need to complete the Background Check process before attending the field session. The Background check process can take up to 10 days. For issues with background checks, refer to this link: https://ussf.my.site.com/lcsupport/s/article/How-long-does-the-background-check-take

The field session (Sunday, March 15) is not a comprehensive class on how to become a referee. The field session is used to teach mechanics and techniques used by a soccer official. The online material is a comprehensive course on how to start as a referee and to teach the Laws of the game. It is expected that you go through the online material before the field session. For this reason, the registration is closed in advance of the field session to leave ample time to cover the online course. You must register for the field session to partake in the field session.
