LEVI COLEMAN NAMED BOYS DIRECTOR OF COACHING
West Side Alliance is excited to announce Levi Coleman as the Boys Director of Coaching. Coach Levi will assume the Boys DOC post immediately for WSA Soccer.
“Levi Coleman will be a tremendous asset to our club’s culture, mission, and vision. He is a person of character, a role model, and of course is a brilliant coach,” reports WSA Executive Director, Roger Bush. “Levi is great for kids, the game, and will help our organization advance our mission and vision to serve the community through the game.”
Levi is a hallmark name in the Tulsa soccer community, having played an integral role with Tulsa Athletic and their rise to success in the semi-pro ranks, both as player and coach, and recently as assistant coach with the Oral Roberts University men’s program, helping that program achieve national recognition. Levi played youth soccer locally in the Tulsa area for Booker T. Washington and Broken Arrow High School, and for club at OKC Spirit, before his collegiate career at UMKC and Florida International. Levi's professional career landed him back home in Tulsa where he played for the Tulsa Athletic. Levi's professional playing included Charlston Battery (USL Championship), Tulsa Athletic (NPSL), Tulsa Revolution and Kansas City Legends (PASL).
Levi will Direct the WSA Boys program, a program with storied success and history, including many state championships, regional finalists, and recently a national champion. The WSA boys club has seen hundreds of players go on to the collegiate ranks, and over the past few years WSA alumni have begun inking professional commitments.
Ryan Bush, WSA Executive Director, and Director of Youth Academy added, “Levi is a massive add to a very experienced and tenured staff at WSA. Having the opportunity to hear Levi’s vision on culture and player development and see it in action over the last couple of years made him the clear choice for this role. He will immediately make an impact in the Tulsa soccer community by directing our elite platform.”
This transition will also include the partnership of WSA Soccer and Tulsa Athletic Youth Academy, a youth academy program that coach Levi has directed for several years. Levi will focus on WSA's elite arm of boys programming, teams which will compete in the Elite Academy in the coming year. He will partner with WSA Senior Technical Director, Alex McLaurin in development of the boys program game model, which will include curriculum design and implementation.
Levi commented on his beginnings with WSA Soccer, “I couldn’t be more excited to work with WSA and their leadership team. We have the same goals for soccer in Oklahoma and they have been very proactive towards achieving that. From providing soccer for the community as an outreach program to providing an elite level development environment for the player that wants to use soccer as a vehicle to attaining a college education to opportunities to playing soccer professionally. WSA has, and is continuing to build, the resources and coaching staff to be the best soccer service around. Not only am I ready to get started, but I am anxious to see the impact of our programs to the soccer community.”
The Side welcomes Coach Levi to our family!
