WSA TEAMS SUCCESSFUL AT BLITZ FALL INVITATIONAL
03 Boys Red, 03 Boys Blue, 01 Boys White, 98 Boys, 01 Girls White, 96 Girls Advance!

   WSA sent 15 teams to the 2012 Blitz Fall Invitational, held over the weekend of October 26-28 at Indian Springs Soccer Complex in Broken Arrow.  All teams enjoyed a great event, great weather, and no fewer than six teams advanced! 

   "It was a great event for our kids.  Blitz does a great job of hosting and running the tournament," reported WSA Director of Coaching, Roger Bush.  

   The tournament marked the first full tournament for the WSA 06 Boys and WSA 06 Girls programs, who played 8v8 for the first time.  "It was about giving the teams some exposure to that evironment and that venue.  We’ll keep our teams in the 4v4 format for player development standards, but getting to play in a tournament is a big deal to the kids and they had a great time!" reported Barry Roberts, WSA Academy Administrative Director, and also coach of the WSA 06 Boys team. 

01 Boys White Champions of the u12 Division of the Blitz Fall Invitational!

    The WSA 01 Boys White were the only team representing the club as champions, as they won the u12 boys Gold division to add another trophy to their shelves.  The 01 Boys came on strong after barely advancing in the first round to defeat Arkansas Comets in the semifinals, and Air Capital SA in the championship final.  The WSA 96 Girls made the tournament finals by defeating home club Blitz 96 in the semis. They would fall to the home club’s oldest group, Blitz 95, in the final to claim the runner-up prize.  WSA 98 Boys followed a similar tournament story, reaching the finals, before being ousted by Blitz 98 Boys as they claimed another runner-up prize for WSA.
