Congratulations to WSA 01 White for claiming the 2014 Oklahoma State Championship on Sunday, May 26th at Edmond Soccer Complex.  It represents the 9th year in a row West Side Alliance Soccer Club has been invited to represent Oklahoma at the Southern Regional Championships!   

THE SIDE PERFORMS WELL AT 2014 STATE CUP 

     WSA soccer turned in yet another great performance at the 2014 Oklahoma State championships.  For the ninth consecutive year The Side has been invited to the U.S. Youth Soccer Regional Championships. While the 2014 performance didn't quite match the 2011, 2012 and 2013 results as a club, coaching directors were quick to point out that several "circumstances" could have easily shifted toward favoring a much better showing than the already strong showing put together by The Side.  In 8 of the divsions WSA had teams reach the final 4 stage, including two state runners-up and the u13 boys state champion.  

      The State Championship performance by WSA 01 White Sharks marks a long journey for the Sharks team, who originated and played in the WSA affiliate and partner club, St Thomas Soccer Club.  The Sharks who participated in the club's in-house league as youngsters, had contended for the state title in both their u11 and u12 year.  The team's staff of coach Ryan Bush, Rey Bustos, manager Marcos Moreno, and team founder, Adan Vasquez, were each very proud of the boys for not just their performance on the weekend, but also for their commitment to each other, and their example off the field.  The team is very committed in the classroom and the community.  "They are some of the nicest kids you'll meet," reported Coach Bush, auspiciously prior to the team winning the state title.  "Manuel is quick witted, I have to stay on top of him, or he might outwit me, but their all good kids."   
     
       Congratulations WSA 01 White, 2014 Oklahoma State Champions!  Good luck at Regionals!  And thanks for representing The Side with class, respect, and dignity!  Congratulations to all WSA teams for a great state cup run!
