THE ANNUALIZED CALENDAR: TACTICAL PERIODIZATION

Designed to Interface with College Transition, High School Soccer, 
Youth Activities, Club Priorities (Family, Friends, School, Soccer)

 

PHASE I: Preseason 6-10 weeks (established roster preparing for new cycle)
      
PHASE II: In Season 8-10 weeks (regular game schedule)

PHASE III: Peak Season 2-4 weeks (peak performance goal)

PHASE IV: Growth Season (aka "off" season) 3-6 weeks

PHASE V: Season Bridge 4-8 weeks (winter sessions)

PHASE VI: Competition Season 6-8 weeks (primary competition goals)

PHASE VII: Transition Season 5-6 weeks (roster changes, secondary competitions based on league finish) 

TOTAL WEEKS RANGE: 34-52


CONTINUUM of SEASONAL YEAR ANNUALIZED TRAINING CALENDAR:  

     34 Week Seasonal Year Designed for Entry Competition Levels: will include approximately 18 weeks of "offseason" (recommended in Oklahoma to be: 4 weeks in January, 1 week in March, 
1 week in May, 2 weeks in June, 3 weeks in July, 2 weeks in November, 5 weeks in December)

     35-51 Week Seasonal Year Models Exist Here (see extreme ends of spectrum above and below)

     52 Week Seasonal Year Designed for Higher End Competition Levels: must be periodized with respect to proper recovery, rest, intensity, frequency, etc....
